Inflammatory disorder of the white matter within the nervous system.
This condition is generally found in people in the age group 20-30 years but the onset of the disease may occur up to 50 years. Dominance is the female sex. Symptoms such as movement coordination disorders in the hands and feet can be installed in a few days or weeks. These crises are accompanied by muscle and joint pain. There may also be visual disturbances such as diplopia (double vision), decreased visual accuracy associated with eye pain. Another common manifestation is facial paralysis. Fatigue is also present. All these events appear as spikes then resolve spontaneously, but with the reappearance of a new spurt complications may develop new or worsening symptoms.
