Definition
Systemic infection caused by bacterial infection.
Cause
- Gram negative bacterial infections
- Staph infections
- Meningococcal infections
- Nosocomial infections (infection acquired while someone was hospitalized)
Signs and symptoms
First patients experience severe episodes of chills, after which the fever over 40 degrees Celsius appears, and the appearance of confusion, imminent sensation of ill, decreased volumes of urine, headaches, nausea. Beside these symptoms there will coexist symptoms of the causative agent.
