VENOUS ULCER
Definition
Sores that develop in the leg, between the knee and ankle due to venous insufficiency characterized by difficulty in returning blood from the legs to the heart.

Signs and symptoms
The disease begins with the appearance between the knee and ankle of dark blue to bluish veins, protruding, sometimes with aspect of the lagoon. They are painless at first but along the disease there can occur injuries and pain in the legs.
Hygienic-dietary rules
- Do not smoke
- Avoid standing for long periods
- When lying leg position should be 10-30 cm higher than the level of the heart - for example, use a pillow under your feet
- Regular exercise
